Paper With Purpose, Made in North America
Hemp Heritage™ has been made on this continent for decades. Upcyx bought the line and runs it today from Calgary. The promise has never changed: paper that supports people and the planet.
A Better Way to Create
For thousands of years, hemp was the world's primary source of paper. The Gutenberg Bible, the Declaration of Independence, and countless historical documents were printed on hemp. Hemp Heritage™ revives that tradition with modern quality standards.
Hemp produces 4× more fiber per acre than trees and is ready to harvest in four months instead of decades. Tree paper is about 30% cellulose; hemp paper is 85%. That means a stronger sheet that can be recycled seven times instead of three.
Made in North America, Start to Finish
Hemp Heritage™ was created in a studio that grew into one of the largest handmade paper companies in North America. Skilled artisans pulled every handmade sheet themselves.
The machine-made line runs at a mill powered by hydroelectric energy, so every sheet is made with renewable power instead of fossil fuels. Hemp grown on North American farms, milled and finished on this continent. The supply chain stays local, on purpose.
Same Sheet, New Home
Upcyx bought Hemp Heritage™ because we believed in what it stands for. We run it today from Calgary, Alberta, and the recipe hasn't changed: 25% North American hemp, 75% post-consumer recycled fiber, no bleaches or dyes.
